Audit & Assurance Senior / Assistant Manager

A highly regarded, top 50 accountancy firm is seeking an Audit & Assurance Senior or Assistant Manager to join its growing Cambridgeshire team. The firm offers a varied client portfolio spanning technology, professional services, not-for-profit organisations and larger corporate groups. This role provides excellent exposure to diverse audit assignments alongside accounts and tax work, within a flexible and supportive working environment that encourages both professional development and work-life balance.

Role Responsibilities

  • Plan and lead audit engagements, including managing onsite teams.
  • Prepare statutory accounts and draft tax computations.
  • Act as a key point of contact for clients, resolving queries and escalating where necessary.
  • Review work completed by junior team members prior to manager review.
  • Coach, mentor and provide feedback to junior staff.
  • Ensure assignments are delivered within agreed budgets and timelines.

Personal Requirements

  • ACA, ACCA, ICAS or CA part-qualified or fully qualified.
  • Proven experience planning and leading external audits within a UK accountancy practice.
  • Strong working knowledge of UK GAAP and FRS 102.
  • Confident in client-facing situations with excellent communication skills.
  • Experience using audit software (e.g. Caseware) and Microsoft Office.
  • Motivated, organised and keen to progress professionally
