Valdis M Lelkes, MD

Valdis Mangulis Lelkes, M.D. is a board certified, fellowship trained orthopedic surgeon who specializes in orthopedic oncology. Having been born and raised in New Jersey, Dr. Lelkes treats the community which he grew up in. Dr. Lelkes completed the musculoskeletal oncology fellowship at Huntsman Cancer Institute at the University of Utah, and residency in orthopedic surgery at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School. Dr. Lelkes is committed to utilizing the most current evidence-based medicine to improve the lives of his patients, which is supported by access to the latest technologies and comprehensive resources through the state's most comprehensive health network at Hackensack Meridian Health. He develops an individualized treatment plan for patients to optimize oncologic outcomes and maximize function. He works alongside the sarcoma care team at John Theurer Cancer Center, which includes medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, and other specialists with a shared focus on improving the lives of people with sarcoma. Dr. Lelkes works in partnership with Francis Patterson, M.D., who is the Chief of the Hackensack Meridian Health Network Orthopedic Oncology program, and is one of the region’s leading experts in the field of orthopedic oncology.
