Job Description

* Contribute to month-end (quarter-end and year-end) reporting, including accruals and prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations
* Take ownership of the P&L entries for a number of smaller reporting entities
* Co-ordinate and report on transactions impacting on the annual tax computation
* Lead the monthly travel expense analysis including reporting to the Finance Director
* Take ownership of the VAT reporting for a number of Group companies
* Contribute to the year-end financial statements and audit processes
* Participate in risk management projects
* Ad hoc reporting and management information as required
* Enforce Finance policies and ensure procedures and controls are followed, including assisting in the review of systems and controls, identification of more automated methods and streamlining processes where possible
* Liaise with internal colleagues at all levels of the business as well as external auditors and advisors

The Successful Applicant

* Experienced in a similar accounting role, including experience in:
* Analysing large data sets
* Month-end procedures, adhering to reporting deadlines
* Journal postings
* Understanding of accounting principles
* Attention to detail with a proactive approach to tasks
* Proficient in Excel
* A genuine team player
* Excellent time management and ability to prioritise
* Ability to communicate with colleagues across the businessDesirable:
* Part-qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) or actively enrolled in a professional accounting study programme
* Experienced in the use of ERP systems
* Experience of VAT reporting
