About the Role

About the role:

A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Ingoldmells is seeking a dedicated Primary Inclusion LSA to join their team on a full-time basis from September. This rewarding role involves supporting pupils who may require additional behavioural, emotional, or pastoral support, helping them develop positive relationships, improve engagement in learning, and achieve their full potential within the classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils, providing consistent support and encouragement throughout the school day.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and senior leaders to implement behaviour support strategies and promote positive learning behaviours.
  • Support pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural needs, helping them develop confidence, resilience, and self-regulation skills.
  • Use effective de-escalation techniques and restorative approaches to support pupils in managing their emotions and behaviour.
  • Deliver targeted interventions, mentoring sessions, and wellbeing activities to support individual and small groups of pupils.
  • Monitor pupil progress, maintain accurate records, and contribute to the development of support plans where required.
  • Encourage positive engagement in lessons, playtimes, and wider school activities.

Pre-requisites:

  • Experience working with children or young people in a school, childcare, youth work, mentoring, care, or similar setting.
  • Strong understanding of managing behaviour positively and supporting pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with pupils, staff, and families.
  • A calm, patient, resilient, and empathetic approach to supporting children.
  • Relevant qualifications in Education, Childcare, Youth Work, Psychology, Health & Social Care, or equivalent experience are desirable but not essential.
  • A genuine passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning and succeed both academically and personally.
