<p><strong>Street works Inspector needed around Somerset Paying £23 per hr ref OR109097</strong></p>
<p><strong>Full time hours on a temporary basis</strong></p>
<p>We are looking for a proactive and experienced Streetworks Inspector to join the Highways and Network Management Team.</p>
<p>This is a predominantly remote and field-based role, requiring regular travel across the borough/network to carry out inspections of streetworks and highway activities. You will spend the majority of your time on-site, monitoring works, identifying defects, ensuring compliance with legislation, and working collaboratively with utility companies, contractors, and other stakeholders.</p>
<p>The successful candidate will play a key role in protecting the highway asset, ensuring public safety, and minimising disruption caused by street and roadworks.</p>
<p>Key Responsibilities</p>
<p>Carry out inspections of streetworks and roadworks undertaken by statutory undertakers and contractors.</p>
<p>Identify, record, and raise defects in accordance with relevant legislation, codes of practice, and local procedures.</p>
<p>Monitor compliance with permit conditions, safety requirements, and reinstatement standards.</p>
<p>Investigate customer complaints and reports relating to streetworks activities.</p>
<p>Liaise with utility companies, contractors, developers, and internal departments to resolve issues and improve compliance.</p>
<p>Attend site meetings and represent the authority at meetings with statutory undertakers and other stakeholders.</p>
<p>Maintain accurate inspection records using electronic systems and mobile devices.</p>
<p>Support the coordination and management of streetworks activities to minimise disruption to the travelling public.</p>
<p>Contribute to performance monitoring and reporting requirements. </p>
