The CFD Analyst performs computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and thermal simulation analyses to solve real</span></span></span><br><span style="font-size:12pt;"><span style="line-height:normal;"><span style="font-family:Aptos, sans-serif;">world engineering problems in the automotive, aerospace, and industrial segments. The CFD Analyst builds finite volume CFD models and runs CFD simulations. This position is located in Livonia, MI.</span></span></span><br><br><span style="font-size:12pt;"><span style="line-height:normal;"><span style="font-family:Aptos, sans-serif;"><b>Responsibilities:</b></span></span></span></p><ul><li style="margin-left:8px;"><span style="font-size:12pt;"><span style="line-height:normal;"><span style="font-family:Aptos, sans-serif;">Build finite volume CFD models for various applications in the automotive, aerospace, and industrial segments using commercial solvers such as Ansys Fluent or Star-CCM+.</span></span></span></li><li style="margin-left:8px;"><span style="font-size:12pt;"><span style="line-height:normal;"><span style="font-family:Aptos, sans-serif;">Run CFD simulations to convergence, postprocess results, and provide engineering analysis.</span></span></span></li><li style="margin-left:8px;"><span style="font-size:12pt;"><span style="line-height:normal;"><span style="font-family:Aptos, sans-serif;">Develop detailed reports to support customer presentations.</span></span></span></li><li style="margin-left:8px;"><span style="font-size:12pt;"><span style="line-height:normal;"><span style="font-family:Aptos, sans-serif;">Develop scripts for workflow automation.</span></span></span></li><li style="margin-left:8px;"><span style="font-size:12pt;"><span style="line-height:normal;"><span style="font-family:Aptos, sans-serif;">Learn new CAE tools quickly.</span></span></span></li><li style="margin-left:8px;"><span style="font-size:12pt;"><span style="line-height:normal;"><span style="font-family:Aptos, sans-serif;">Manage analysis files according to company data-retention policies.</span></span></span></li></ul><span style="font-size:12pt;"><span style="line-height:normal;"><span style="font-family:Aptos, sans-serif;"><b>Minimum requirements: </b></span></span></span><ul><li style="margin-left:8px;"><span style="font-size:12pt;"><span style="line-height:normal;"><span style="font-family:Aptos, sans-serif;">Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with coursework in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), thermal analysis, or numerical methods.</span></span></span></li><li style="margin-left:8px;"><span style="font-size:12pt;"><span style="line-height:normal;"><span style="font-family:Aptos, sans-serif;">Knowledge of fluid mechanics, heat transfer, finite volume methods and turbulence modeling.</span></span></span></li><li style="margin-left:8px;"><span style="font-size:12pt;"><span style="line-height:normal;"><span style="font-family:Aptos, sans-serif;">Good attention to detail and ability to use hand calculations to validate input and results.</span></span></span></li><li style="margin-left:8px;"><span style="font-size:12pt;"><span style="line-height:normal;"><span style="font-family:Aptos, sans-serif;">Ability to communicate verbal and written technical information.</span></span></span></li><li style="margin-left:8px;"><span style="font-size:12pt;"><span style="line-height:normal;"><span style="font-family:Aptos, sans-serif;">Knowledge of basic engineering principles.</span></span></span></li><li style="margin-left:8px;"><span style="font-size:12pt;"><span style="line-height:normal;"><span style="font-family:Aptos, sans-serif;">Excellent problem-solving ability.</span></span></span></li></ul><span style="font-size:12pt;"><span style="line-height:normal;"><span style="font-family:Aptos, sans-serif;"><b>Preferred skills:</b></span></span></span><ul><li style="margin-left:8px;"><span style="font-size:12pt;"><span style="line-height:normal;"><span style="font-family:Aptos, sans-serif;">Master’s or Ph.D. in Engineering, Physics or Mathematics.</span></span></span></li><li style="margin-left:8px;"><span style="font-size:12pt;"><span style="line-height:normal;"><span style="font-family:Aptos, sans-serif;">1 year of Computational Fluid Dynamics experience.</span></span></span></li><li style="margin-left:8px;"><span style="font-size:12pt;"><span style="line-height:normal;"><span style="font-family:Aptos, sans-serif;">Experience in 3D fluids and thermal modeling.</span></span></span></li><li style="margin-left:8px;"><span style="font-size:12pt;"><span style="line-height:normal;"><span style="font-family:Aptos, sans-serif;">Experience in writing scripts and process automation.</span></span></span></li><li style="margin-left:8px;"><span style="font-size:12pt;"><span style="line-height:normal;"><span style="font-family:Aptos, sans-serif;">Experience with writing automation scripts such as function hooks, UDF or subroutines.</span></span></span></li><li style="margin-left:8px;"><span style="font-size:12pt;"><span style="line-height:normal;"><span style="font-family:Aptos, sans-serif;">U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident allowing for International Traffic in Arms Regulations </span></span></span><span style="font-size:12pt;"><span style="line-height:normal;"><span style="font-family:Aptos, sans-serif;">(ITAR) compliance.</span></span></span></li><li style="margin-left:8px;"><span style="font-size:12pt;"><span style="line-height:normal;"><span style="font-family:Aptos, sans-serif;">Proficient in at least one programming language (C++, Java and/or Python).</span></span></span></li><li style="margin-left:8px;"><span style="font-size:12pt;"><span style="line-height:normal;"><span style="font-family:Aptos, sans-serif;">Knowledge of pre-processors
