About the Role

Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Planner to join our planning team. This role is responsible for developing and managing production plans, optimize inventory levels, and ensuring on time customer deliveries. The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in supply chain principles, supported by a relevant Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.

 

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Develop, maintain, and communicate production schedule/jobs based on forecasted demand, customer orders, and inventory targets for the assigned product lines.
  • Partner with Customer Service, Master Planner, and/or sales teams to validate customer demand and translate them into actionable production plans.
  • Collaborate with Procurement, Manufacturing, and Logistics to ensure capacity, material availability, and production capabilities meet planning requirements.
  • Utilize ERP/MRP systems to execute planning functions and maintain accurate system parameters (lead times, lot sizes, safety stock, etc.).
  • Participate in sales and operations planning meetings to clarify machine configurations, locational builds, options to be included in those builds, then load captured information into SAP to drive material requisition.
  • Issue production orders for manufacturing for each particular machine build.
  • Conduct inventory cycle count and resolve inventory discrepancies
  • Additional responsibilities if required.

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain or a related field with 5+ years of relative experience is strongly preferred;
  • In lieu of Bachelor’s Degree, commensurate experience may be considered.
  • Relative experience pertinent to production scheduling or supply chain planning within a manufacturing or similar distribution environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.

 

Qualifications: Nice to have

  • Experience in discrete manufacturing or mechanical assembly environments.

 

Responsibility for Quality Procedures or Direct Product Quality:

  • Adheres to Universal Quality System policies and procedures and uses Total Cycle Time principles and standard problem solving tools to continuously improve work processes.

 

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to use a computer on a frequent basis. 
  • Remaining stationary for extended periods, but needs to be mobile enough to navigate through work areas. 
  • Must be able to communicate clearly with fellow colleagues.
