Transport Planning & Development Control Opportunities (Local Authorities) - EOI

I’m currently working closely with several Local Authorities across the UK who are strengthening their teams across Transport Planning, Strategy, and Development Control, and I wanted to share the below.

There has been a notable increase in demand driven by LTP/LIP delivery, active travel programmes, EV infrastructure rollout (LEVI), and increased development activity, with councils looking to bring in experienced professionals across a range of disciplines.

I’m actively supporting roles including:

• Road Harm Reduction / Transport Strategy Consultants – delivering safety-led and Vision Zero strategies
• Transport Strategy Managers / Consultants – leading on policy, LTPs, and strategic transport planning
• Senior / Principal Transport Planners – managing development planning work and wider strategy projects
• LEVI Project Leads / Managers – delivering EV infrastructure programmes and funding initiatives
• Sustainable Transport Team Leads / Officers – overseeing active travel, behaviour change, and decarbonisation initiatives
• Development Control Consultants (Officer → Principal) – reviewing planning applications and negotiating transport outcomes
• S278 / S38 Engineers (Officer → Principal) – managing highway agreements and technical approvals
• Active Travel / Mobility Hub Leads – delivering town centre and placemaking-focused transport schemes
• Transport Strategy Project Managers – leading multi-disciplinary programmes across authorities
• LTP / LIP Delivery Leads – driving implementation of long-term transport plans and investment programmes
