Duties And ResponsibilitiesTo support the Supply Chain Manager and Purchasing Team by maximising purchasing power to improve competitive edge and to deliver best value, price, quality, on-time delivery, utilising purchasing tools and techniques in line with recognised best practice, legal and policy requirements.
Functions
ESSENTIAL
Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, contractual frameworks, and applicable regulatory requirements, while acting as a trusted commercial partner to internal stakeholders across operations, engineering, and finance
Demonstrates strong business acumen with the ability to understand market dynamics, anticipate industry trends, and translate strategic objectives into actionable plans
Involvement in supply chain strategy and approach, aiding towards global goals & objectives
Strong analytical skills with the ability to access and interpret commodity market data (e.g., London Metal Exchange) for demand planning, supplier negotiations, and production scheduling
Deliver aggressive year on year savings targets against project budgets in line with procedures and KPI’s
Preparation for bid work
Develop, lead and manage the procurement process for project specific raw materials and procurement of raw material safety stock
Forecast long lead raw material items to suppliers to ensure demand can be met and highlight to the business any potential risks to supply
Maintenance of fixed pricing schedules, maximizing long term agreements and ensuring global requirements are considered
Actively support the development of less experienced team members through mentoring, coaching, and knowledge sharing, contributing to capability uplift, consistency of execution, and overall procurement performance
Support stage gate reviews as required
Supplier selection and negotiations including terms and conditions, incoterms, payment terms, pricing and service levels
Creation and distributions of monthly raw material pricing report for bids team
Participation in AFE Projects inclusive of terms and agreement negotiation, ensuring that the project is brought in under budget and within the given time frame
Participate in HSE Awareness – Observation Cards, HSE Safety Suggestions
Support Quality in vendor related non-conformances and development, ensuring lessons learned are executed fully
Identify and eliminate waste promoting the use of more environmentally friendly substances and practices and contribute to the continuous improvement of the environment
Displays required levels of engagement and a positive `can-do` attitude while consistently supporting Oceaneering culture of Safety, Quality, ongoing learning and continual improvement
Any other roles or tasks as required to support our business needs including carrying out work in accordance with the Company Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Systems

QualificationsREQUIRED
Typically holds degree and/or certification in area of specialty
Experience in a buyer/senior buyer role (demonstrable experience within a manufacturing company)
Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally, as required
Office-based role; candidates must be able to work onsite during standard business hours
