Senior Platform Engineer (DV Cleared) Locations: Corsham or London (onsite) Clearance: Active MoD Developed Vetting (DV) required Salary: Competitive (up to ~£80,000 depending on experience + Bonus)OverviewWe are hiring multiple Senior Platform Engineers to join a highly secure Defence and National Security engineering environment, working on complex, mission-critical digital platforms supporting UK government systems.This is a hands-on engineering role focused on designing, building, automating, and operating modern cloud-native platforms in highly secure environments. You will be part of teams delivering scalable, resilient and secure digital services used in real operational settings.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the design and implementation of platform components across modern digital servicesBuild, test, automate and support infrastructure and application services in production environmentsDevelop and maintain scalable, secure, and resilient cloud platformsWork across engineering, security, product and testing teams in a multi-disciplinary environmentImplement CI/CD pipelines and modern continuous delivery practicesSupport live services, ensuring availability, performance, and reliabilityDebug and resolve complex issues across distributed systems and infrastructureApply infrastructure-as-code and configuration management toolingContribute to technical design decisions, architecture discussions, and delivery planningMentor and support junior engineers where appropriateTechnical RequirementsActive DV clearance (essential)Strong Linux engineering and troubleshooting experienceExperience with Kubernetes and containerised environmentsInfrastructure-as-Code experience (e.g. Terraform or similar)Strong scripting ability in at least one: Python, Bash, PowerShell, Go, Ruby or GroovyExperience with cloud platforms (AWS or Azure)Experience operating in live production / service environmentsStrong understanding of networking, system debugging and observability toolingExperience with Git and modern version control workflowsDesirable ExperienceExperience in Defence, Government or other highly secure environmentsExposure to cloud-native SaaS / PaaS platformsExperience with automation, monitoring and reliability engineering practicesCertifications in AWS or Azure (mid-level or above)Experience mentoring or guiding junior engineersStrong understanding of DevOps and platform engineering best practices
