About the Role

<p>Resident Maintenance Engineer (Mobile)</p><p>📍 <strong>North London (N17 9QZ + local portfolio)</strong><br>🏢 <strong>Pareto FM</strong><br>🕒 <strong>Monday – Friday | 08:00 – 17:00</strong></p><p>Pareto FM has an exciting opportunity for a <strong>Resident Maintenance Engineer (Mobile)</strong> to join our team supporting a <strong>portfolio of sites across North London</strong>.</p><p>This role covers a <strong>defined local patch</strong>, requiring regular travel between sites. You’ll take ownership of your area, ensuring buildings are maintained to a high standard while working closely with the wider engineering and contract management team.</p><p>You will be responsible for delivering <strong>planned and reactive maintenance across mechanical and electrical systems</strong>, ensuring all assets remain safe, compliant and fully operational.</p><hr><h2>The Role</h2><p>As a Mobile Resident Engineer, you will play a key role in maintaining building services across multiple sites within your allocated area.</p><p>Your responsibilities will include:</p><ul><li><p>Carrying out <strong>planned preventative maintenance (PPM)</strong> and reactive works</p></li><li><p>Maintaining and repairing <strong>mechanical and electrical systems and plant</strong></p></li><li><p>Fault finding across building services equipment and responding to breakdowns</p></li><li><p>Responding to <strong>BMS alarms</strong> and carrying out first-line diagnostics</p></li><li><p>Supporting and overseeing <strong>subcontractors</strong> on site</p></li><li><p>Ensuring all plant areas are <strong>safe, compliant and well maintained</strong></p></li><li><p>Completing and updating <strong>simPRO tasks</strong> with clear records and photographic evidence</p></li><li><p>Maintaining <strong>logbooks and compliance documentation</strong> across sites</p></li><li><p>Monitoring environmental conditions via <strong>HVAC systems</strong></p></li><li><p>Carrying out <strong>site walk-rounds</strong> to ensure systems are operating correctly</p></li><li><p>Reporting risks, hazards and plant issues to the Supervisor and Management team</p></li><li><p>Supporting plant operations including <strong>start-up, shutdown and system checks</strong></p></li></ul><p>You’ll be trusted to manage your own workload across sites while maintaining strong communication with both the client and internal teams.</p><hr><h2>Working Hours &amp; On-Call</h2><ul><li><p><strong>08:00 – 17:00, Monday to Friday</strong></p></li><li><p>Additional <strong>out-of-hours overtime may be required</strong></p></li><li><p>Overtime is <strong>not guaranteed</strong></p></li><li><p><strong>On-call rota applies</strong>, with additional allowance</p></li></ul><hr><h2>What We’re Looking For</h2><p>We’re looking for an experienced, self-motivated engineer who is comfortable working across multiple sites and managing their own time effectively.</p><p>You should have:</p><ul><li><p>Experience within <strong>Facilities Management or Building Services</strong></p></li><li><p>Strong background in <strong>PPM and reactive maintenance</strong></p></li><li><p>Experience fault finding across <strong>mechanical and electrical systems</strong></p></li><li><p>A proactive and <strong>customer-focused approach</strong></p></li><li><p>Ability to work independently across a <strong>mobile patch</strong></p></li><li><p>Strong communication and organisational skills</p></li><li><p>A flexible approach to working hours and on-call requirements</p></li></ul><hr><h2>Qualifications &amp; Technical Experience</h2><h3>Essential</h3><ul><li><p>City &amp; Guilds Level 3 (or equivalent) in <strong>Electrical Engineering</strong></p></li><li><p>City &amp; Guilds Level 3 (or equivalent) in <strong>Mechanical Engineering</strong></p></li><li><p><strong>18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations</strong></p></li><li><p>Strong understanding of <strong>Electricity at Work Regulations</strong></p></li></ul><h3>Desirable</h3><ul><li><p>City &amp; Guilds <strong>2391 Inspection &amp; Testing</strong></p></li><li><p><strong>IOSH Working Safely</strong></p></li><li><p><strong>IPAF / PASMA</strong></p></li><li><p>Unvented hot water systems training</p></li><li><p>Experience with <strong>BMS, generators, HVAC systems, lighting and water systems</strong></p></li><li><p>Knowledge of <strong>ACOP L8 / water hygiene</strong></p></li><li><p>High Voltage systems experience</p></li></ul><p>Experience working on equipment such as:</p><ul><li><p>Boiler plant and ventilation systems</p></li><li><p>Pumps and pressurisation systems</p></li><li><p>Generators and switchgear</p></li><li><p>Electrical distribution, small power and lighting</p></li></ul><hr><h2>Why Join Pareto FM?</h2><ul><li><p><strong>Varied role across a local portfolio</strong> – no two days are the same</p></li><li><p>Opportunity to take real <strong>ownership of your patch</strong></p></li><li><p>Supportive engineering and management team</p></li><li><p>Ongoing training and development opportunities</p></li><li><p>Work within a <strong>professional FM organisation delivering high standards</strong></p></li></ul><hr><p>If you are a <strong>multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer</strong> who enjoys working across different sites, solving problems and taking ownership of your work, we’d love to hear from you.</p>
