Job Overview
Under the direction of the Design Engineering Manager, the Senior PCB Electronics Engineer will be responsible for both new product development and redesign of older equipment to address parts obsolescence with primary focus on designing, developing, testing, validating, and troubleshooting microcontroller-based radio controls and industrial control panels.
A Day In The Life
Participate in New Product Development (NPD) teams to deliver new products with a high degree of complexity; responsibilities include requirements analysis and system design.
Design, develop, test, and validate microcontroller-based PCBs.
Work with software developers to design, develop, and test embedded software.
Troubleshoot, debug, maintain, and support existing products.
Design and evaluate products, parts, and processes for cost efficiency and reliability.
Assess older equipment designs facing parts obsolescence and redesign that equipment when necessary.
This role will interact with application engineers, sales, and production, as well as with customers, vendors, and printed circuit board houses.
What will help you thrive in this role?
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related Engineering Discipline, required
Masters Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related Engineering Discipline, preferred
Must have at least 5 years’ industry experience in electronics-based product development.
Proficient in Altium Designer (or similar CAD tool) for schematic capture, component selection, component creation, PCB layout, Gerber generation & verification.
Experience in creating microcontroller-based PCB designs.
Excellent knowledge of electronic components.
Strong organizational skills in documenting design, testing, and validation processes.
Experience with SAE J1939 is a plus.
Experience with the design requirements of UL508A and/or UL218 is a plus.
Willing to travel up to 5%
