About the Role:
Teaching Personnel is recruiting for a dedicated and experienced SEN Specialist Teaching Assistant to work within a school’s Inclusion Resource (IR) Unit. This role involves supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.

Key Responsibilities:
Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support to pupils within the IR unit
Assist the class teacher and SENCO in delivering personalised learning plans
Support pupils with communication, emotional regulation, and social interaction
Implement behaviour management strategies and de-escalation techniques where required
Help create a structured, safe, and supportive learning environment
Monitor and record pupil progress, contributing to review meetings and reports
Encourage independence and promote positive learning behaviours
Requirements:
Previous experience working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) is essential
Experience supporting pupils with ASC, ADHD, SEMH, or speech and language needs is highly desirable
A relevant qualification in Education, SEN, or Childcare (Level 2 or above preferred)
Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
Excellent communication, patience, and resilience
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one through Teaching Personnel)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
