Senior Financial Analyst – Capital Planning
Location: Cordova, TN / Memphis, TN
Job Type: Direct Hire | Full-Time | Onsite (No Remote)
Compensation: $104K – $111K yealry (BOE) + up to 25% year-end bonus
The Senior Financial Analyst – Capital Planning is responsible for supporting and driving the company’s capital planning process. This role partners closely with operations, project management, and finance teams to ensure accurate tracking, reporting, and analysis of capital projects.
Key Responsibilities
Partner with mill operations leaders to maintain and update the capital project list and project statuses
Facilitate the development of long-range capital plans
Liaise with project managers to track project progress and collect/process commitments, actual costs, forecasts, and changes from procurement, construction, planning, engineering, and estimating teams
Analyze project spend variances against budgets and forecasts; communicate cost trends and provide recommendations to operations leaders, project management, and finance teams
Produce month-end capital reporting, including major capital reports and analyses
Support capital project development, including budget creation and payback analysis
Coordinate with project managers to ensure post-implementation reviews are completed, and project effectiveness is measured and reported in a timely manner
Consult with operations and project managers on:Capital vs. expense determinations
Asset classification
Asset disposals and write-offs
Internal asset transfers
Annual property tax reporting
Maintain the Approved for Expense (AFE) documentation process
Support the accounting team with month-end close activities and general accounting to ensure accuracy and efficiency
Complete special projects and other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting required
Graduate degree in Business, Finance, or a related field preferred
Minimum of 5 years of related experience
Strong understanding of accounting processes, procedures, and internal controls
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Experience with enterprise project management tools, Oracle EBS, and BI reporting is a plus
Smartsheet experience is helpful but not required
CPA preferred but not required (company will support costs for obtaining or maintaining certification)
