About the Role
As a Senior Construction Manager you will be responsible for the ensuring the safe delivery of Projectsacross the Airport Campus primarily ensuring appointed contractors undertake their duties under CDM2015. As a Designated Competent Person you will lead on all Capital Accident/Near Miss Investigationsreporting findings direct to the Head of Project Delivery and sharing learnings across the business.
You will need excellent stakeholder management as you will be working collaboratively within our Capital Delivery team, maintaining strong engagement with the Operational teams whilst overseeing deliveryand acting as the first point of contact for all MAG Framework Contractors.
Safety needs to be at the forefront of all Capital projects while meeting customer and stakeholderoperational needs and constraints, protecting the business from operational and commercial disruption.
Being the Senior Construction Manager, you will be accountable for HSE Specific Responsibilities, these will include:
Quality of Pre-Construction Information completeness and content from Asset records for historic H&SFile information.
Ensuring completeness of the Designers’ Risk Register and contribution to the Design Risk Meetings.
Review adequacy of the Construction Phase Plans.
Maintain register of F10s and monitor expiry dates.
Manage the Safe Start process for the site to ensure that the construction phase is fit to commenceand fully compliant.
Conduct regular site inspections and report on MAG Safeport.
Review H&S File Part 1 for completeness and accuracy; coordinate the PA3 Process with Assetsstakeholders.
Oversee construction site incident investigations to ensure that they reach appropriate root causes andremedial actions.
Appointed as the NEC Supervisor during contract delivery , responsible for ensuring constructionquality is maintained by the appointed contractor.
What will make you successful in the role?
You will need to be experienced in project delivery in a complex, operational, safety regulated environment, and understand test and commission and handover phases of infrastructure projects. Like we say, safety is key, so you will need a thorough working knowledge of UK health, safety and environment legislation and it’s application to construction delivery.
We also need you to have:
Working knowledge of NEC contract form and client/pm/supervisor obligations under the various NECmodels
Experience of value engineering/value management approaches and their use to deliver best valuetechnical solutions
Desired - professional affiliation (e.g.: RICS; APM; CIOB; RIBA, ICE or similar)
Strong contractual/commercial awareness, with an understanding of risk apportionment/managementand whole life value.
