Job Title: Technical Sales Engineer, Automotive Location: Novi, US Role Summary: The Technical Sales Engineer (TSE) will be a critical member of a major automotive account team located in Novi, Michigan. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to shape NXP’s business with one of the most exciting and innovative customers in the automotive industry. TSE will develop and expand relationships with strategically important contacts at our customers, cultivating new design opportunities, influencing roadmap decisions, and executing our growth strategy. Your knowledge of the automotive industry and ecosystem will help leverage and position NXP as a best-in-class partner. Job Responsibility: • Design, deploy, and execute a best-in-class account strategy to maximize NXP design wins at a major automotive customer. • Provide strategic assessment of new business opportunities in cooperation with product teams. Evaluate opportunities based on the entire value chain, considering several criteria, such as technological differentiators, strategic fit, profitability, and timing. • Coordinate globally and facilitate joint business meetings across units, functional teams, and geographies. • Drive strategy towards BL goals (i.e., roadmap development, alignment of support resources) • Provide deal dynamics intelligence including product requirements, decision criteria, roadblocks, timeline, budget, and competitors. • Understand and influence customer hardware architecture to position NXP's solutions across multiple technologies. • Develop solid and long-term influential relationships with key decision makers within customer teams at all levels to favorably position NXP as a trusted partner and adviser. • Conduct face-to-face customer management meetings as necessary to provide support, address issues, communicate updates and build strong relationships. • Provide customer product information, including roadmaps, demonstrations, pricing, and delivery quotations. • Develop and maintain an intimate working knowledge of the customer’s supply chain, production plans, ramp-up/-downs, and product demand. • Maintain and report awareness of major customer trends, trade development, and competitive activity. Job Qualification: • Preferred 3+ years of sales experience in the semiconductor industry, preferably in the automotive space. • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field. • Proven ability to manage a complex sales cycle, with a track record of successful revenue attainment. • Technically adept understanding of hardware and software, and how businesses can leverage NXP to deliver better end products. • Highly organized with attention to detail and exceptional follow-up skills. • Ability to lead global, cross-functional resources to remove barriers and achieve sales goals. • Good understanding of a broad range of IC products including Microcontrollers, Power Management ICs (PMICs), and Ethernet, as well as a solid application development background. • Self-starter, motivated to work autonomously. • Excellent communication, negotiating, and presentation skills (oral & in writing). • Highly proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
