About the Role
Solution Architects
Based at either Manchester Airport or Stansted Airport with hybrid work pattern
Why MAG?
Help Us Build the World’s Most Intelligent Airports
Manchester Airports Group (MAG) is more than an airport operator - we’re a technology‑driven business shaping the future of travel. As the largest UK owned airport operator, we serve over 60 million passengers a year across Manchester, London Stansted, and East Midlands Airports.
MAG is a complex, exciting, and fast‑moving environment that blends innovation with large‑scale modernisation. Our architecture teams ensure that every digital solution - from aircraft turnaround and stand allocation, colleague payroll to passenger parking and movement – works seamlessly, securely, and intelligently.
If you enjoy variety, complexity, and tech that has impact, you’ll love it here!
The role
We’re looking for Solutions Architects who can work across boundaries - people who think strategically, design robust solutions, and aren’t afraid to get hands on when needed. Whether your background is software engineering, infrastructure, platforms, or a mix, you’ll find a place in our team.
This is a great environment for an architect with broad technical interests who enjoys learning new domains, adapting to different technologies, and working across a diverse operational landscape.
You’ll contribute to areas such as:
• Airport and airfield systems - real‑time operational systems that keep the airport moving.
• Passenger & colleague journeys - payroll (SAP), security operations, rostering, workforce tools.
• Data, analytics & AI - supporting MAG’s vision to become the world’s most intelligent airports.
• Major transformation programmes modernising some critical platforms.
What will make you successful in the role?
You’ll have experience designing end‑to‑end technical solutions in complex environments, with broad technical understanding (any combination of apps, infrastructure, integrations, cloud and data). You can engage confidently with stakeholders from engineers to senior leaders and will be comfortable navigating both modern and legacy technologies.
You don’t need to be a deep specialist – curiosity, adaptability and a love of solving varied problems matter most.
