We are seeking an experienced International Trade Compliance Program Lead with expertise in ITAR, EAR, OFAC, and AECA licensing and compliance. As the International Trade Compliance Program Lead, you will manage product classification and jurisdiction under ITAR, EAR, and Customs regulations to support accurate export/import authorizations. You will review program proposals and contracts to determine licensing requirements, recommend appropriate clauses, and support the use of exemptions, TAAs, and MLAs. You will also serve as the primary point of contact for employees needing trade licensing and compliance support. This position reports to the Export Compliance Manager and is based out of our Anoka office. What You’ll Do Apply expert knowledge of ITAR, EAR, OFAC, AECA, and global trade regulations. Understand business strategies and advise on regulatory impacts. Lead classification and jurisdiction assessments for products, technology, software, and services. Prepare, manage, and modify export licenses, TAAs, MLAs, and exemptions. Provide guidance and training on trade compliance and authorization requirements. Identify operational compliance risks, propose corrective actions, and implement improvements. Advise on sanctions, restricted party screening, anti-boycott requirements, and global trade controls. Ensure accurate classification, country of origin, valuation, and other customs requirements. Oversee audits, investigations, disclosures, and internal control reviews. Manage technology control plans and foreign visitor approvals; review international travel requests. Develop and deliver trade compliance training programs. Build strong cross-functional partnerships across Sales, Finance, Sourcing, Operations, and more. Perform or oversee third-party due diligence. Monitor regulatory changes and guide implementation across the business. Maintain relationships with suppliers, customers, freight forwarders, and government agencies (DDTC, BIS, Customs, DHS). Serve as backup for import compliance activities when needed. Experience You Bring Bachelor’s degree and 5-7 years of relevant trade compliance experience. Strong operational knowledge of ITAR, EAR (BIS), OFAC, and U.S. import/export requirements. Experience developing and maintaining global trade compliance programs, policies, and procedures. Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and outside counsel. Strong critical thinking, project management, and communication skills. Experience creating and delivering policies, procedures, and training. Familiarity with digital compliance tools (e.g., SAP GTS, OCR EASE). Working knowledge of DECCs and SNAP-R licensing systems. Ability to travel quarterly or as needed for audits, inspections, and site support. High attention to detail and ability to manage complexity. Preferred Qualifications Strong operational knowledge of OCR EASE. Experience as an Empowered Official. Background working with State Department consent agreements. M&A or divestiture compliance experience. Experience in firearms, ammunition, or military-related manufacturing. Work Environment: Employee work assignments may include tasks working with and/or exposure to potentially hazardous areas, including flammables and explosives. Safety training is provided to all employees to ensure compliance with company and federal regulations. Pay Range: $86,900.00 - $121,800.00 The actual annual salary offered to a candidate will be based on variables including experience, geographic location, education, and skills/achievements, and will be mutually agreed upon at the time of offer.
