Role Overview</strong></p>

• As a Graduate Quantity Surveyor, you will report to a Quantity Surveyor, Project Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor. You will support the commercial team across all stages of the project lifecycle, gaining hands on experience and exposure to live civil engineering projects.</strong></li> </ul>

  Key Responsibilities</strong>
  Tender Stage</strong></p>

  • Support the Bid Team by preparing subcontractor enquiry documentation.</li>
  • Compare and analyse subcontract quotations. - Record, organise, and archive tender documentation for efficient project handover.</li> </ul>

    Pre Construction</strong></p>

    • Participate in tender handover meetings with the project team.</li>
    • Develop a strong understanding of the project scope, constraints, and deliverables.</li>
    • Review tender documents and tender book allowances to understand pricing, risks, and scopes.</li>
    • Identify additional areas of commercial risk or opportunity.</li>
    • Understand subcontract versus self delivery elements of the works.</li>
    • Support the reallocation of tender allowances where required.</li>
    • Build familiarity with tender programme logic and key constraints.</li> </ul>

      Subcontract & Consultant Management</strong></p>

      • Assist in accurately measuring subcontractor works.</li>
      • Maintain accurate records and validate subcontractor submissions.</li>
      • Prepare subcontract payment notices for approval.</li>
      • Produce valuation based payments in line with contract requirements and quality standards.</li>
      • Ensure payments follow correct governance, are timely, and accurately reflect work completed.</li>
      • Support compilation of subcontractor liabilities and accruals.</li> </ul>

        Commercial General</strong></p>

        • Gain understanding across core cost, value, and cash processes.</li>
        • Support monthly reporting cycles and cost management activities.</li> </ul>

          Project Controls, Contract Knowledge & Administration</strong></p>

          • Develop awareness of project controls, contract conditions, and commercial governance.</li>
          • Assist in producing commercial documentation and reporting</li> </ul> About you</h2>

            Required Qualifications / Expertise</strong>
            Essential:</strong></span></p>

            • To have undertaken at least one year industrial work placement as a trainee QS (if Graduate QS)</span></li>
            • Continued professional development (CPD)</span></li>
            • Full UK Driving Licence</span></li>
            • Flexibility in your working locations as VolkerStevin are a National Business that operates on projects Nationwide.
