You'll find us putting the customer at the heart of everything we do, while prioritising our colleagues' health, safety and wellbeingAbout the Role:Based in The Hold, Ipswich IP4 1LR, you will be working 22.5 hours per week, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday.A background in catering is essentialYour responsibilities will include:Delivering a high level of service across the Facilities Management functions on site, being proactive and working ahead to plan and foresee the changing requirements and needs of the customer and adjusting accordingly.Day to day operational management of the FM services ensuring the provision of a high-quality FM service through a 'one team approach' with services complimenting and supporting one another.Customer retentionEnsure the service meets more than the specified needs of customersMaintaining an onsite Caf茅, adhering to food safety Management, hygiene and allergensOrdering of stock, checking compliance, staff rotasWho are we looking for?Working within a similar role in FM and catering backgroundKnowledge of all soft FM services with an understanding of building managementKnowledge food standards, allergens, hygiene and managementLeading a teamEvent catering managementTeam management 路Specialist Knowledge & SkillsCreative thinking required to resolve complex problems e.g. recruitment & retention of staff and to implement change with least resistanceAbility to prioritise own workloadAbility to understand and interpret policies, procedures and relevant legislationA good knowledge of all technical equipment required in the application of dutiesAbility to cost facilities management service specifications or specialist services.Accuracy required in estimating / pricing, certification of staff claims, payroll etc.Willingness to change service delivery as customer requirements change within health, hygiene and productivity parametersKnowledge and experience of security proceduresProven experience of staff managementProven experience of budget managementKnowledge of needs of full range of customers, including issues of disability, ethnicity and other aspects of diversityGood understanding of political and procedural context of the organisation 路Interpersonal & Communication SkillsAbility to converse heads of departments, senior management etc.Exercising highly developed influencing, negotiating and persuasive skills in order to convince others to adopt policies and courses of action they might not otherwise wish to takeAbility to listen to problems and concerns of staff and to assist with sensible and practical advice, delivered in a sympathetic mannerAbility to manage change and support others through the processNegotiating contracts, influencing senior managers, colleagues and customers regarding changeAbility to conciliate / arbitrate in customer or staff disputes, e.g. conduct / capabilityHigh standards in the preparation and presentation of all documentation relating to the Facilities Management serviceGood leadership skillsAble to present comprehensive written reports, policies and processes in accordance with management requirementsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsRelevant ExperienceRelevant experience of being in sole charge of a facilities management service of full-time staff across the site.A commercial approach to service delivery is essential including a track record of setting and meeting financial / productivity targetsExperience of managing teamsAdditional RequirementsContribute to long term strategic planning required to maintain business viabilityLong term operational planning skills also required e.g. equipment plan requires replacement according to economic life of equipment, average five yearsMedium term planning skills required to achieve business plan targets e.g. monthly monitoring of financial targets against budget and planning, and implementing actions to rectify the situation as required to maintain year on year financial viabilityAbility to motivate and develop othersLevel of Autonomy and Decision MakingJobholder has freedom to work within the constraints of set budgets e.g. purchasing, contracting procedures.Decision making in relation to the service delivery in consultation with customers and senior management as requiredKnowing when to seek support from senior managementApply TodayIf you're ready to bring your skills to a company that values people and places, apply now and start your journey with Vertas
