- The SAP RISE BASIS Administrator is responsible for managing, operating, and optimizing SAP systems within the RISE with SAP model.
- This role ensures system availability, performance, security, and compliance, while working closely with SAP, hyperscalers, and application teams in a cloud-driven environment.
- Administer SAP systems under RISE with SAP (S/4HANA Private or Public Cloud)
- Act as the primary technical interface between the customer, SAP, and hyperscaler providers (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Monitor system health, availability, and performance against SLA commitments
- Perform core BASIS activities including system start/stop, kernel upgrades, and profile management
- Manage client administration (creation, copy coordination, deletion)
- Configure and monitor Transport Management System (STMS)
- Support SAP NetWeaver, S/4HANA ABAP, and Java stacks
- Manage user administration, roles, and authorizations
- Coordinate with SAP for security patches, SAP Notes, and vulnerability remediation
- Ensure compliance with audit requirements and access reviews
- Plan and coordinate SAP upgrades, support packs, and enhancement packages
- Manage monthly/quarterly patch cycles under RISE governance
- Validate changes in collaboration with functional and testing teams
- Handle BASIS-related incidents and escalations
- Perform root cause analysis for system and performance issues
- Work with SAP support via SAP for Me / ONE Support Launchpad
- Monitor systems using SAP Solution Manager and SAP Cloud ALM
- Track OS-level and database performance metrics
- Proactively optimize system performance and capacity
- Coordinate backups, restores, and disaster recovery activities under RISE scope
- Validate recovery procedures and ensure business continuity readiness
- Maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and runbooks
- Ensure adherence to SAP RISE standards and best practices
- Hands-on experience with RISE with SAP environments
- Strong understanding of S/4HANA architecture and HANA database fundamentals
- Familiarity with cloud concepts (IaaS, SaaS, SLAs)
- Experience working with SAP Support and OSS processes
- Knowledge of ITIL-based incident, problem, and change management
- Strong troubleshooting, coordination, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work in cross-functional and vendor-managed environments
- SAP BASIS or SAP S/4HANA certifications
- Experience with SAP Cloud ALM or Solution Manager
- Exposure to hyperscaler platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Prior experience in SAP system migrations or cloud transitions
