Social Worker -Corporate Parenting Team
Central Bedfordshire Council is currently recruiting for an experienced Qualified Social Worker (QSW) to join their Corporate Parenting Team. This is a great opportunity to work within a committed service supporting children and young people in care to achieve stability, safety, and positive life outcomes.Key Details:
Working Arrangement: Hybrid - 2 days office-based, 3 days remote
Location: Priory House, Monks Walk, Chicksands, Shefford, SG17 5TQ
Contract: Agency, rolling
Pay: £39.00 p/hr Umb
About the Role:
As a Qualified Social Worker in the Corporate Parenting Team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality social work support to children and young people under the care of the local authority. You will play a key role in ensuring their needs are met, their voices are heard, and their outcomes are improved through effective planning and intervention.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage a caseload of children and young people under corporate parenting arrangements
Undertake comprehensive assessments, care planning, and statutory visits in line with legislation and best practice
Prepare high-quality reports for court proceedings, reviews, and planning meetings
Progress and support care proceedings, ensuring all statutory deadlines are met
Work collaboratively with carers, families, education, health, and other partner agencies
Promote stability, permanence, and positive outcomes for children and young people
Ensure the child's voice is central to all planning and decision-making
Maintain accurate, timely, and detailed case recordings
Requirements:
Qualified Social Worker (Degree or equivalent)
Registered with Social Work England
Experience within a Corporate Parenting Team
Strong experience in court work and care proceedings
Ability to manage complex caseloads effectively
Excellent communication, assessment, and report-writing skills
Working ArrangementsHybrid working model in place
Expectation to attend the office for specific duties, meetings, and team days in line with service needs
