About the Role

<p><strong>The Opportunity</strong> </p> <p>We&#8217;re looking for a highly skilled <strong>Senior Procurement Specialist</strong> to play a pivotal role in delivering both strategic and operational procurement across a diverse portfolio of goods, works, and services.</p> <p>This is an exciting opportunity to lead high-value procurement projects, influence business-wide commercial strategy, and drive measurable value &#8211; including cost savings, service improvements, and meaningful social impact.</p> <p>The role is initially available as a 12 month fixed term contract, and as a Senor Procurement Specialist you&#8217;ll work at the heart of the organisation, partnering with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to ensure best-in-class procurement practices, compliance with evolving UK legislation, and innovative supply chain solutions.</p> <p><strong>Your main duties and responsibilities</strong></p> <ul> <li>Leading and managing complex, high-value public procurement projects (including above-threshold competitions exceeding £2m)</li> <li>Developing and executing procurement strategies across multiple categories of spend</li> <li>Running compliant tender processes in line with the <strong>Procurement Act 2023</strong> and <strong>Procurement Regulations 2024</strong></li> <li>Negotiating and drafting robust commercial contracts that deliver value, minimise risk, and support long-term partnerships</li> <li>Managing Framework Agreements and Dynamic Markets</li> <li>Driving value through detailed spend analysis, contract performance reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives</li> <li>Building strong, collaborative relationships with stakeholders and supply partners</li> <li>Supporting contract management activities, including performance reviews, innovation discussions, and issue resolution</li> <li>Embedding social value and sustainability into procurement activities</li> <li>Contributing to procurement governance, compliance, and continuous improvement</li> <li>Supporting training, knowledge sharing, and the development of procurement capability across the organisation</li> </ul> <p><strong>What We&#8217;re Looking For</strong></p> <ul> <li>Proven experience delivering compliant public sector procurements (above and below threshold) using a variety of routes to market</li> <li>Strong knowledge of UK procurement legislation, including the <strong>Procurement Act 2023</strong> and Public Contracts Regulations</li> <li>Demonstrated success in achieving value for money and delivering social value outcomes</li> <li>Experience negotiating and managing a wide range of commercial contracts</li> <li>Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret spend data and performance metrics</li> <li>Experience using e-procurement systems and contract management tools</li> <li>Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills</li> <li>A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with strong attention to detail</li> <li>Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt in a fast-paced environment</li> </ul> <p><strong>Qualifications &amp; Experience</strong></p> <ul> <li>CIPS Level 4 (minimum) or working towards MCIPS (desirable)</li> <li>Relevant experience in procurement, contract management, or commercial roles</li> <li>Solid understanding of key legislation such as: <ul> <li>Public procurement regulations</li> <li>Social Value Act</li> <li>(Desirable) TUPE and Section 20 requirements</li> </ul> </li> <li>Strong IT skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook</li> </ul> <p><strong>What Success Looks Like</strong></p> <ul> <li>Delivery of measurable cost savings and service improvements</li> <li>High-quality, compliant procurement processes and outcomes</li> <li>Strong supplier relationships that drive innovation and value</li> <li>Positive feedback from stakeholders across the business</li> <li>Contribution to team objectives and overall procurement performance</li> <li>Continuous improvement in procurement practices and capability</li> </ul> <p><strong>Why Apply?</strong> This role offers the chance to:</p> <ul> <li>Work on high-impact, high-value procurement projects</li> <li>Shape procurement strategy and influence organisational outcomes</li> <li>Drive real social value through supply chain activities</li> <li>Develop your career within a forward-thinking procurement function</li> </ul> <p><img src="https://counter.adcourier.com/U2ltb25CdXJyLjUzMjY5LjExMzA5QG1vcmdhbmxhdy5hcGxpdHJhay5jb20.gif"></p>
