About the Role
Assistant Assembly Technician<strong>Location:</strong> Redhill<br><br><strong>Salary:</strong> £26,000 – £28,000 per annum (dependent on experience)<br><br><strong>Hours:</strong> 40 hours per week (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Monday to Thursday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM Friday)<br><br><strong>Position Type:</strong> Full-time, Permanent (Immediate Start Available)<br><br>About the RoleAn exciting opportunity has arisen with a top-tier, global manufacturer of high-precision testing systems. Following a recent high-profile acquisition of innovative technology, they are experiencing significant growth in their cutting-edge product range.<br><br>We are seeking a motivated <strong>Assistant Technician</strong> to join their specialized team in Redhill. This is a crucial support role in a high-technology, light manufacturing environment, covering everything from component inspection and kitting to precision assembly and calibration.<br><br>Key Responsibilities<ul><li><strong>Assembly & Build:</strong> Construct and assemble the specialized range of products in strict accordance with company build procedures and quality standards.<br><br></li><ul><li><strong>Calibration Support:</strong> Assist with the calibration of completed products using specialized equipment, accurately recording serial numbers, production data, and test records.<br><br></li><li><strong>Inspection & Kitting:</strong> Perform incoming parts inspections to ensure quality control, and kit parts from production orders for sub-assemblies.<br><br></li><li><strong>Logistics & Packing:</strong> Pack finished products to fulfill customer orders, ensuring items are securely readied for on-time shipping.<br><br></li><li><strong>Systems & Admin:</strong> Utilize the company ERP system (Microsoft Dynamics) to maintain accurate production files and ensure the workflow runs smoothly.<br><br></li></ul></ul>Requirements & Experience<ul><li><strong>Education/Qualifications:</strong> NVQ, HNC, HND, or an apprenticeship in Mechanical/Electronic Engineering (or a relevant technical discipline). Product assembly training in a stringent manufacturing environment is highly desirable.<br><br></li><ul><li><strong>Technical Skillset:</strong> Strong practical skills with the ability to read and interpret engineering/general assembly drawings. Experienced in using small hand tools and precision measuring equipment (e.g., micrometers, verniers).<br><br></li><li><strong>Desirable Experience:</strong> Exposure to optical assemblies, ERP systems (like Microsoft D365), and quality management systems (ISO 9001) is a distinct advantage. A full UK driving license is also preferred.<br><br></li><li><strong>Key Attributes:</strong> Excellent attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a flexible, team-oriented attitude.
