About the Role

Regional Service Manager Location: London Duration: 6 months Rate: £300–£350 per day + mileage Sector: Fire protection, with some security systems Role overview We are seeking an experienced Regional Service Manager to oversee a team of service engineers across the London region. The role will focus mainly on fire systems, with some security work, and will suit an ex-engineer who has progressed into leadership. The successful candidate will manage day-to-day service delivery, ensure compliance, support training and audits, and maintain strong operational standards. Regional compliance, reporting, audits, and service management responsibilities are typical of this type of role. Key responsibilities Lead and line manage a team of up to 10 service engineers. Oversee regional service delivery across fire and security works. Carry out compliance reporting, audits, and performance tracking. Support training, development, and competency of engineers. Produce quotes and support commercial responses where required. Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and team planning. Monitor service standards, SLA performance, and customer satisfaction. Ensure all works are completed safely, efficiently, and in line with company procedures. Maintain accurate records and reporting for management review. Requirements Proven experience managing a team of service engineers. Strong background in fire systems, with some knowledge of security systems desirable. Ideally an ex-engineer with hands-on technical understanding. Experience with compliance, audits, reporting, and training. Strong leadership and people management skills. Ability to handle recruitment, planning, and operational oversight. Own vehicle and full UK driving licence. Willingness to travel across the London region as required, with mileage reimbursed. Mileage reimbursement is commonly structured around HMRC-style business mileage rates, often 45p per mile for the first 10,000 miles. Desirable Experience working in a field-based regional management role. Familiarity with fire alarm, emergency lighting, suppression, or related systems. Knowledge of security systems and associated service operations. Experience in a contractor, FM, or maintenance environment.
