About the Role
An Occupational Therapist 2 consistently provides effective direct care to a variety of complex patients. In doing so the Therapist acts as a role model and supervisor for junior staff and helps identify patients who have unmet occupational therapy needs. A Therapist is focused on expanding clinical knowledge and skills beyond the entry level and sharing this knowledge through in-services and participates as an active member of the interdisciplinary healthcare team. The Therapist acts as a role model and may supervise other staff. This level of therapist seeks as well as provides feedback for improved clinical practice and begins to assume a leadership role receiving mentoring in this process. Therapists at this level may be asked to contribute to performance appraisals.<p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><ul><li>Performs occupational therapy evaluations according to professional standards and departmental guidelines.</li><li>Demonstrates knowledge of intervention options and executes a program of skilled occupational therapy intervention.</li><li>Actively participates in professional growth of self and others.</li><li>Actively participates in quality improvement and program development.</li><li><p>In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.</p></li></ul><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p>MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS<br /><br />Education: Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy<br />Experience: 6 months relevant experience.<br />Licensure: Licensed to practice in Occupational Therapy in the Commonwealth of Virginia. New grads must be licensed within 6 months of hire. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.<br /><br />PHYSICAL DEMANDS<br /><br />Job requires frequently bending/stooping/traveling (distance: ½ mile). Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 20 – 50lbs.
