SAP Basis Specialist

Job Description:  Job Title: SAP Basis Specialist   Purpose:  Responsible for managing Lixil’s global SAP environment.  Adhere to architecture design of the SAP systems.  Provide guidance to first, second and third line teams on SAP best practices.   Main role/ Responsibilities:  Ensure the SAP based systems operate reliably and efficiently in a secure environment. This includes assisting with the configuration and maintenance of High Availability and Disaster Recovery SAP solutions.  Provide support for other applications and services as requested by the SAP Centre of Excellence. Contribute as possible where the area is outside of the job holder’s technical expertise.  Provide second/third line technical support in areas where job holder possesses unique technical expertise.   Ensure effective root cause analysis and problem management.  Provide technical and operational expertise for Major Incident Management and ensure timely resolution of Major Incidents  Provide technical feasibility and appropriateness of proposed incident & problem resolutions when alternative solutions are available  Provide appropriate assessment of SAP OSS notes with regard to relevance for Lixil Operations  Perform detailed planning & project management of implementation activities for updates & patching where required  Perform system health audits to validate system status & report to SAP Centre of Excellence Lead  Ensure the adherence of SAP functional best practices are adhered to during Incident and Problem investigation and resolution  Complete quality documentation for the SAP environments  Liaise with the functional SAP experts and business teams in order to assist with the ongoing functional support of SAP  Build, manage and maintain effective relationships with SAP Centre of Excellence, third party suppliers and the Business streams  Perform different types of upgrade (Kernel upgrade, SPS upgrade, version upgrade, EHP upgrade)   Job Requirements:  Proven SAP Basis operational expertise of minimum 5 years or more in both support and implementation scope of work.  Personality:  Attitude to listen and understand the needs of respective parties.  Effective and skillful communicator.  Experience with working in a relevant international environment doing Incident resolution, problem management and change request/enhancement support.  Customer focus and shows ownership of incidents and problems.  Self-starter to sometimes work under limited guidance and instructions.  Good team worker with strong communication and interpersonal skills.  Positive, proactive, enthusiastic attitude, self-motivated.    Generic working competencies:  Excellent logical thinking mind to differentiate sequence of events.  Excellent critical thinking skills to identify root cause of issues to drive for efficient results  Operational Basis Administration Experience in S/4, ECC, BW/4, CRM, Content Server, Web Dispatcher, SAProuter, BO BI Platform, BO Data Services.. etc.  Technically proficient in Linux, Unix, and Windows.  Dedicated to improving the required quality of system performance and solutions.  Good understanding towards timeline impact of projects.  ITIL Knowledge and Experience  SCRUM Knowledge and Experience    Support experience:  Change & Transport Management  SAP Profiles and its usage  Job Management  Printer/Spool Management  Workload issues in SAP  SAP Process Management  Support Packs & Support Stacks  Unicode & Non-unicode system  Kernel Upgrade and Steps involved  System Refresh/Copy and steps involved  Different types of client copies  System monitoring  Batch Management   STMS usage and configuration  SAP client Management  Security Management (tech, roles built, UAM)  ALE / IDOC Admin  System Maintenance (stop/start, profile parameters etc)  SOLMAN (SMSY, MOPZ, EWA, BPM)    Recommended (good to have) SAP training:  ADM100 - Basis Admin  ADM103 - Basis Admin  ADM200 - Basis Admin - Java Stack  ADM315 – Performance Tuning  Any types of installations   Language skills:   Fluent business English, both verbally as well as in written communication
