This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in the day-to-day operations of the school, ensuring a clean, secure, and well-maintained environment for staff and students.School Caretaker - Role OverviewAs a School Caretaker, you will be responsible for the general maintenance, security, and upkeep of the school premises. You will work closely with the site team and leadership to ensure the school remains a safe and welcoming place for learning.Your responsibilities will include:Opening and closing the school site daily, ensuring security procedures are followedCarrying out general maintenance and basic repairs across the premisesMonitoring the condition of the building and reporting any issues promptlyEnsuring the school grounds are clean, tidy, and well maintainedManaging waste disposal and supporting cleaning operations where requiredCarrying out health and safety checks, including fire alarm testing and basic compliance tasksAssisting with setting up rooms for events, exams, and school activitiesOverseeing contractors on site and ensuring work is completed safelySupporting the management of site supplies and equipmentResponding to emergency situations as requiredRequirementsPrevious experience in a caretaker, maintenance, or site assistant role (school experience desirable)Good practical skills and ability to carry out basic repairs and maintenance tasksUnderstanding of health and safety proceduresA proactive, reliable, and hands-on approachAbility to work independently and as part of a teamGood communication skillsFlexibility to support occasional out-of-hours requirements if neededEnhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)What's on OfferA supportive and welcoming secondary school in BrentFull-time role: Monday to Friday, with potential split shiftsImmediate start with potential for a long-term or permanent positionOpportunity to play a vital role in the smooth running of the schoolOngoing training and professional development opportunitiesHow to ApplyIf you are a dependable and proactive individual ready to help maintain a safe and efficient school environment, we would love to hear from you.For more information, please contact Elizabeth Topley at elizabeth.topley@twrecruitment.com or call 0207 845 5450 (option 3).
