Planned power cuts Planned power cuts A planned power cut is a scheduled interruption of the electricity supply when we need to perform essential maintenance, upgrades, or repairs. This ensures the network remains safe, reliable, and efficient. We're committed to maintaining and improving the network We invest millions every year into maintaining the local network. This helps us to ensure all areas of the Northwest region have a safe and secure supply of electricity for the future. Sometimes, this requires us to temporarily interrupt your supply so our engineers can work safely. Our goal is to minimise disruptions to your daily life by carefully planning our work. We will always notify you in advance before we plan to interrupt your supply, unless it is an emergency.  How we provide a 10 out of 10 service  Our customers have identified the following key factors that contribute to us delivering excellent service for them. 9 am is the earliest we will turn your power off 5 pm is the latest time we will turn your power back on 10 days notice about a planned power cut Committing to agreed dates and not cancelling planned works Comply with restoration times Shortening times without power during the winter months We won't turn off the power on any Friday during December Plan any interruptions for schools outside of term times Sometimes we may need to extend the times without power, but we will inform you with reasonable notice.  How will I know about planned power cuts?
