About the role:
A welcoming and supportive SEND school in Spalding is seeking a dedicated Day-to-Day SEND Teacher to provide flexible teaching cover throughout the new academic year, starting ASAP. The school supports children and young people with a range of additional needs, including Autism, ADHD, Moderate Learning Difficulties, Severe Learning Difficulties communication needs, and Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs.

This role offers both full-time and part-time opportunities throughout the academic year.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and accessible lessons across a range of age groups and subject areas, adapting teaching approaches to meet individual pupil needs.
- Provide day-to-day classroom cover, ensuring continuity of learning and maintaining established routines and expectations.
- Differentiate learning activities to support pupils with a variety of SEND needs, abilities, and learning styles.
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and support staff to ensure pupils remain engaged and appropriately supported throughout lessons.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and structured classroom environment that promotes learning, confidence, and wellbeing.
- Implement strategies outlined within EHCPs, behaviour support plans, and individual learning programmes.
- Support pupils with communication, emotional regulation, and social development where required.
- Monitor pupil engagement and progress, providing feedback to permanent teaching staff and senior leaders.
- Uphold safeguarding responsibilities and contribute to the overall welfare and development of pupils.
Pre-requisites:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), QTLS, or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching within SEND, mainstream, SEMH, alternative provision, or specialist educational settings.
- Good understanding of a range of special educational needs, including Autism, ADHD, learning difficulties, communication needs, and SEMH.
- Confidence adapting lesson content and teaching approaches to support varying levels of ability and need.
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to quickly establish positive relationships with pupils.
- Flexible and adaptable approach to teaching across different classes, key stages, and learning environments.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with support staff, parents, and wider professionals.
