About the Role
Location: Parkland: LL BLK 400
Primary Purpose:
Provides comprehensive communication and swallowing rehabilitative services to facilitate the patient's ability to recover and return to an independent living environment.
Education:
-Must meet the academic and clinical experience requirements of a Master's degree in Speech - Language Pathology from an accredited university.
Experience:

Certification/Licensure:
Fellowship Only:
-Must have an intern license in Speech Language Pathology from the Texas State Board of Examiners in Speech Language Pathology and Audiology within 30 days of placement in job.
-Must have Must have a current Healthcare Provider CPR course completion card prior to hire and/or placement in job from one of the following:
-American Heart Association
-American Red Cross Rescuer
-Military Training Network
Speech Language pathologist Only:
-Must be licensed by the Texas State Board of Examiners for Speech Language Pathology and Audiology.
-Must hold a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) issued by the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA).
-Must have Must have a current Healthcare Provider CPR course completion card prior to hire and/or placement in job from one of the following:
-American Heart Association
-American Red Cross Rescuer
-Military Training Network.
Skills or Special Abilities:
- Must be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of pediatric and/or adult neurogenic language disorders, swallowing, aphasia, dysarthria, apraxia, voice disorders, alaryngeal communication, articulation and normal language development.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with staff, patients and family members.
