Instructional Assistant

Saint Lucy School for Children with Visual Impairments is seeking an instructional assistant for the 2026-2027 school year.

Responsibilities:

· Assists the Teacher of the Visually Impaired in teaching a variety of skills to students who are visually impaired.

· Works directly with students individually and/or in groups under the direction of the teacher.

· Prepares materials and equipment to be used by the students in the classroom.

· Follows classroom routine, and directions from therapists.

· Supervise lunchroom, outside activities, and field trips.

· Be flexible to assist school wide when there is a need.

Qualifications:

  • Must have a high school diploma. Some college education preferred.
  • Must have current PA State Police Criminal Record Check, PA Child Abuse Clearance Check, Federal Criminal Background Check, Attend Safe Environment training and attend Mandated Reporter Training.
  • US Work Authorization required

This is a 10 month permanent part time position, five days a week, 5.5 hours per day
