About the Role

IT Support EngineerCambridge£30k-£36k + BonusThis is a hands-on IT support role within a fast-growing, highly technical organisation operating at the cutting edge of science and engineering. You’ll play a key part in keeping people productive by making sure their tools, systems, and devices work, whether they’re in the office or working remotely.You’ll be highly visible across the business, supporting a smart, demanding user base and working closely with an IT Manager and external support partners. If you enjoy variety, ownership, and seeing issues through to completion, this role will suit you well.What You’ll Be DoingPreparing devices, access, and core systems for new users1st-2nd Line technical support for colleagues, diagnosing issues across mixed operating systems and resolving them efficientlyKeeping office and remote-working technology running smoothly, from video calls to shared resourcesPlaying an active role in keeping systems and users safe by supporting security processes and responding when things don’t look rightPartnering with the IT Manager to refine how IT services are delivered and supportedTaking part in refresh cycles and improvement work across devices, offices, connectivity, and resilienceSupport with project workWhat We’re Looking ForPrevious experience in an IT support, service desk, or technician roleStrong troubleshooting skills across Windows and LinuxConfident supporting both technical and non-technical usersExperience working with a ticketing system and managing issues through to resolutionComfortable juggling priorities and spotting problems before they escalateClear communicator who can document solutions and processes effectivelyWhat’s On OfferCompetitive salary with bonus potentialStrong benefits package including private healthcare, pension, and life cover28 days holiday plus bank holidaysOngoing learning, development, and training support For more information and a full job description, please contact Andy Clarke at The One Group.
