About the Role

<p>As a Speech-Language Pathologist, you will play a critical role in supporting students through individualized and group therapy in alignment with their Individualized Education Plans (IEPs). Your impact will extend beyond direct therapy, as you collaborate closely with educational and residential teams to ensure therapeutic strategies are integrated seamlessly across all settings of the individual’s daily life.</p> <p>Title: Speech Language Pathologist<br /> Location: Rochester NY<br /> Salary: 75,000 to $85,000</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:<br /> Conduct comprehensive evaluations of communication abilities, including receptive/expressive language, articulation, voice, fluency, oral-motor function, and hearing.<br /> Develop individualized service plans in accordance with program policies and applicable regulations (e.g., school-based and outpatient settings).<br /> Provide therapy services tailored to the communication goals outlined in each Individual Treatment Plan (ITP) or Individualized Education Plan (IEP).<br /> Participate actively in IEP meetings, case conferences, staffing sessions, and team meetings to align care strategies.<br /> Maintain detailed and timely documentation, including progress notes, treatment plans, evaluations, and discharge summaries.<br /> Train and coach direct care staff to support communication skill development throughout the individual’s day.<br /> Mentor team members and contribute to staff development through training in wraparound therapeutic strategies.<br /> Conduct observations and functional skill assessments in both academic and residential environments.<br /> Assist families in learning strategies to support communication development at home.<br /> Obtain and monitor insurance authorizations as needed for therapy services.<br /> Support continuous program improvement through participation in departmental evaluations.<br /> Serve as a case manager by coordinating care and facilitating access to additional support services when necessary.</p> <p>Qualifications:<br /> Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Speech-Language Pathology.<br /> Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).<br /> Current state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.<br /> A minimum of three years’ experience working with children in a therapeutic or educational setting.<br /> Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.</p> <p>For further consideration, send resume or email to Alexg@smitharnold.com VP of recruitment or call 914-774-8202</p>
