Functie
For an international financial services organisation, we are looking for an experienced Interim Financial Controller to strengthen the Financial Control & Reporting function during a transitional period. The assignment focuses on ensuring accurate financial reporting, robust controls, and continuity in regulatory and group reporting within a complex banking environment.The interim professional will play a key role in safeguarding financial integrity, coordinating reporting to multiple stakeholders, and supporting ongoing improvements in reporting processes and systems.Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and prepare group and regulatory financial reporting in line with applicable accounting standards (IFRS)
- Monitor and review daily and periodic financial performance, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data
- Perform control and review procedures on the core banking accounting system
- Implement accounting changes and strengthen data quality controls
- Coordinate with IT and other stakeholders on system enhancements, upgrades, and reporting changes
- Support the implementation of new reporting requirements and regulatory changes
- Ensure reconciliation and consistency across multiple systems and reporting sources
- Contribute to the preparation of annual accounts, quarterly and semi-annual financial statements, year-end close, and related bookings
- Respond to senior management requests with clear, well-structured financial analyses and presentations
- Support internal and external audits and liaise with auditors and regulators as needed
- Participate in and coordinate finance-related projects during the assignment
Environment & Scope
- International banking or financial services setting
- Exposure to banking products such as corporate lending, trade finance, and treasury
- Interaction with group entities and cross-border stakeholders
- Focus on maintaining continuity, stability, and control during change
Profiel
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Financial Control within banking or a comparable financial services environment
- Strong experience with IFRS and financial reporting standards
- Prior exposure to bank audits; Big Four background is a strong advantage
- Solid understanding of: Hedge accounting, Expected Credit Loss (ECL), Capital and regulatory reporting frameworks
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and challenge financial data
Systems & Technical Skills
- Advanced MS Excel skills
- Working knowledge of data tools and databases (e.g. Access, SQL, VBA) is an advantage
- Experience working with core banking or complex financial systems
- High level of accuracy, structure, and attention to detail

- Able to operate effectively in a complex, fast-changing environment

- Excellent command of English (written and verbal), Dutch & Turkish is a high plus.
Education & Certifications
- Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business Administration (or Bachelor's degree with substantial relevant experience)
- Professional certification (ACCA, CPA, CA, or equivalent) is preferred
