Role Overview Production Shift Leader plays a critical role in overseeing the efficient operation of the production floor, ensuring that daily production targets, quality standards, and health & safety regulations are met or exceeded. This position leads, mentors, and develops a team of operators and production staff while driving continuous improvement initiatives and contributing to strategic objectives. The Production Shift Leader is also responsible for managing complex operational challenges and ensuring that all production processes are streamlined and aligned with the organisation's broader goals. This role would involve working a shift rota with 2 weeks days (07:00-19:00) followed by 2 weeks nights (19:00-07:00). Key Responsibilities Oversee and manage shift handovers, ensuring smooth transitions and clear communication of production priorities. Allocate and direct resources effectively to achieve daily production plans, including labour and tool change requirements. Ensure machines, operators, and processes comply with all safety, environmental, and quality standards. Lead daily safety inspections and actively promote a strong health & safety culture. Identify, escalate, and support resolution of equipment breakdowns to minimise downtime. Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including lean practices such as 5S, TPM and SMED. Conduct audits across production lines to maintain process excellence and housekeeping standards. Provide leadership, support, and development to team members, ensuring training plans are followed. Monitor equipment and production performance, analysing data to drive efficiency improvements. Ensure accurate completion and submission of all shift reports and paperwork.
