Accounts Assistant Colchester £24,000 - £34,000 A well-established accountancy practice is looking for a motivated Accounts Assistant to join its team. This role involves preparing accounts and tax returns for a diverse mix of clients, including limited companies, sole traders, and partnerships. The position is primarily office-based, but occasional travel to other offices or client locations may be needed to support the team. Role Responsibilities Preparing and maintaining accounts for clients across various structures. Assisting with the preparation of tax returns. Using cloud accounting software and Microsoft Office tools effectively. Supporting the team with ad-hoc client and administrative tasks. Ensuring work is accurate, timely, and meets quality standards. Building and maintaining strong client relationships. Personal Requirements AAT qualified or close to qualification. Practical experience in accounts preparation and tax return production. Familiarity with Microsoft Office and cloud-based accounting systems. Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Self-motivated with the ability to prioritise work effectively. Maths and English GCSE (or equivalent); ideally 3 A-levels or equivalent. Customer-focused approach.
