TECHNICAL LEAD (REACT/NEXT.JS)

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Technical Lead will be responsible for shaping and guiding the next phase of the front-end architecture, leading a transition to React and Next.js. This role combines hands-on engineering with technical strategy, team mentorship, and cross-functional collaboration. The ideal candidate brings a balance of coding excellence, architectural vision, and a passion for building high-performing, user-friendly applications.

The platform is used across diverse user groups and requires strong attention to performance, responsiveness, and design consistency at scale.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead the front-end technical strategy and architecture, with a focus on scalability and performance

• Drive the adoption of React + Next.js and set high standards for code quality and maintainability

• Mentor and support engineers across experience levels, fostering a culture of technical excellence

• Collaborate with product, design, and backend teams to define and implement features

• Conduct architectural reviews and suggest system improvements

• Optimize applications for speed, responsiveness, and cross-device performance

• Champion modern development practices and contribute to building internal tooling and documentation

• Stay current with front-end trends and integrate relevant innovations

 

REQUIREMENTS

• 15+ years of experience in software development, including 4+ years in a senior or staff-level role

• Deep hands-on experience with React and Next.js in production environments

• Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs and modern web architecture

• Proven ability to lead technical initiatives and drive long-term impact

• Track record of building responsive, performant, and accessible web applications

• Experience with performance optimization, SEO principles, and analytics tools (e.g., GA4)

• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

• Collaborative, proactive, and able to navigate ambiguity in fast-paced environments

• Fluent in English

 

WORKING MODEL
Hybrid: 4 days per week in the Lisbon office.
Relocation support is available for candidates moving to Portugal.
