OpenStack Cloud Engineer

<p style="text-align:center;"><span>We’re looking for an <strong>OpenStack Cloud Engineer</strong> to help build, operate, and optimise the core services of a large‑scale, sovereign cloud platform. You’ll work across Linux systems, cloud infrastructure, automation, and open‑source components to ensure a secure, scalable, and highly available environment.</span></p><ul><li><p><strong>Freelance cooperation</strong></p></li><li><p><strong>Start date:</strong> ASAP</p></li><li><p><strong>Duration</strong>: until 31.10.2026, with the possibility of extension for an additional 6-12 months</p></li></ul><h3><strong>Requirements:</strong></h3><ul><li><p><span>Hands‑on production experience with <strong>OpenStack</strong> (especially <strong>Cinder</strong> and <strong>Nova</strong>)</span></p></li><li><p><span>Strong programming skills in <strong>Python</strong> and/or <strong>Go</strong></span></p></li><li><p><span>Deep knowledge of <strong>Linux systems administration</strong> and cloud infrastructure</span></p></li><li><p><span>Experience running <strong>Kubernetes</strong> in production</span></p></li><li><p><span>Familiarity with <strong>CI/CD pipelines</strong>, build management, and release processes</span></p></li><li><p><span>Strong troubleshooting and <strong>root cause analysis</strong> skills</span></p></li><li><p><span>OpenStack <strong>upstream contribution</strong> experience is a plus</span></p></li><li><p><span>Good command of <strong>English</strong> (German is a plus)</span></p></li></ul><h3><strong>Nice to have:</strong></h3><ul><li><p><span>Experienced in using AI tools in day-to-day workflow</span></p></li></ul><h3><strong>Main responsibilities:</strong></h3><ul><li><p><span>Develop and maintain OpenStack Cinder block storage services.</span></p></li><li><p class="MsoListParagraph"><span>Develop and maintain OpenStack Nova compute services.</span></p></li><li><p class="MsoListParagraph"><span>Build and maintain automation workflows using Python and/or Go.</span></p></li><li><p class="MsoListParagraph"><span>Operate and administer Linux-based cloud infrastructure.</span></p></li><li><p class="MsoListParagraph"><span>Contribute patches and improvements to OpenStack upstream projects.</span></p></li><li><p class="MsoListParagraph"><span>Participate in code reviews and knowledge sharing within the team.</span></p></li></ul>
