Stores Team Leader (Temp to Perm)

Hours: Full-time, Monday–Friday (38 hours)
Salary: £30,000 (depending on experience)
About the Role
Select Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of a leading manufacturing company for a Stores Team Leader to join the Operations team on a temp-to-perm basis.
This is a hands-on operational leadership role responsible for ensuring the Stores function runs efficiently, safely, and in line with production requirements. You will lead a team of stores operatives, supporting day-to-day activity while ensuring high standards of accuracy, stock control, and system compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, support, and supervise the Stores team to achieve daily operational targets
- Ensure accurate and timely picking, goods receipt, and distribution of materials to production
- Maintain high levels of stock accuracy through cycle counting and disciplined inventory control
- Oversee ERP transactions and ensure full compliance with scanning and traceability processes
- Act as first point of contact for operational queries and prioritisation of work
- Maintain housekeeping, audit readiness, and operational standards within the Stores area
- Promote and enforce safe working practices in line with EHS requirements
- Support continuous improvement activity across Stores operations
- Ensure effective use of automated storage systems (VLM)
Key Requirements
Essential:
- Experience in a warehouse, stores, or materials handling environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Ability to work in a fast-paced operational environment
- Good communication and team leadership skills
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable:
- Experience with ERP systems and hand-held scanning devices
- FLT licence
- Supervisory or team leader experience
- Continuous improvement or lean manufacturing experience
Hours and Benefits
- 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday
- Working hours between 08:00–18:00 (to be agreed with line manager)
- Early Friday finish currently in place, subject to workload
- Temp-to-perm opportunity with long-term progression potential
