D.R. Horton, Inc. is currently looking for an IT Shipping/Receiving Clerk. The right candidate will be responsible for the daily receipt, shipment, tracking, storage, and return of equipment managed by the IT Department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Receive all shipments ordered by the IT Procurement Group
Unpack and examine incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages, and correspond with shipper to rectify damages and shortages. Route items to departments
Determine shipping priorities, work assignments and shipping methods required to meet shipping and receiving schedules
Ship equipment orders from the corporate office to divisions located across the country
Schedule orders and ensure accuracy of packaging equipment
Responsible for the accuracy of duties and documentation involved with both Shipping and Receiving functions. (Inbound / Outbound freight)
Determine method of shipment
Assign inventoried hardware to divisions/users
Prioritize workload in ticketing system to ensure Service Level Agreement (SLA’s) and customer needs are met
Work with other employees and departments to resolve shipping and receiving matters
Follow all safety guidelines and promotes a safe working environment at all times
Coordinate with shipping companies, the postal service, and other departments as needed
Perform physical inventory counts on a quarterly basis; verify counts
Conducts all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the company
Ability to work overtime
Qualifications
Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
One to three months related experience and/or training
Good understanding of basic/fundamental warehouse shipping and receiving procedures
Ability to perform multiple tasks and work independently
Strong attention to detail
Ability to perform within a changing workload and/or priorities and meet order schedules with quality result
Ability to collaborate and work well within a team environment
Ability to use standard warehouse equipment such as, but not limited to, hand truck, cart, or pallet
Proficiency with MS Office and email
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in JD Edwards and a ticketing system a plus
Strong communication skills
