5. SEMH Teacher, Haywards Heath / Burgess Hill Rate: £125–£215/day depending on role and experience Contract: Long-term (term-by-term), strong potentialm to go permanent Location: SEMH provision in Haywards Heath / Burgess Hill Responsibilities: Plan, deliver, and assess a differentiated curriculum tailored for SEMH pupils Use trauma-informed teaching strategies, de-escalation techniques, and relationship-based practice Develop and maintain behaviour support plans Work with pastoral teams, SENCOs, and external professionals (therapists, social workers) Record and report on progress, social–emotional development, and behaviour Engage in safeguarding, risk assessment, and restorative conversations Requirements / Advantages: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification Experience or a strong interest in SEMH or alternative provision Driving licence is very advantageous — helps reach wider placements Enhanced Child-Only DBS mandatory Why Apply: An opportunity to make a transformational difference in young people’s lives in a stable, supportive SEMH environment.
