Interim Financial Controller (Temporary)

Location: Lancaster
Contract: Interim / Temporary
Duration: 3-6 months (with potential extension)
Salary: Competitive hourly/day rate

We're recruiting for an experienced Interim Financial Controller to join a well-established business during a key period of change. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on finance professional who can hit the ground running and provide immediate support to the finance function.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day finance operations and lead the finance team.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reporting.
• Manage cash flow, budgeting and forecasting.
• Ensure robust financial controls and compliance with accounting standards.
• Support the month-end and year-end close processes.
• Liaise with auditors and external stakeholders where required.
• Provide financial insight and support to senior leadership.
• Drive process improvements and identify efficiencies.

About You

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) or qualified by experience.
• Previous experience as a Financial Controller or Senior Finance Manager.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge.
• Confident managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience using ERP/accounting systems.
• Available to start immediately or at short notice.
