About the Role
<p>For over 40 years in business, this engineering and systems integration firm is seeking an Instrumentation Technician for its Minneapolis, MN location. This role is a mix of field service and panel shop support, with responsibilities focused on instrumentation start-up, calibration, troubleshooting, and control system support for industrial projects. The position plays an important customer-facing role, supporting project success through hands-on technical work, equipment modifications, and maintaining strong client relationships. Local travel to customer sites is required, along with time spent building and testing UL508A control panels in the shop.</p>
<p>The ideal candidate will have at least two years of industrial controls or instrumentation experience and be comfortable working with PLCs, motor controls, networking equipment, and system drawings. Candidates with a technical associate degree, industrial controls training, or a journeyman electrician background are encouraged to apply. Strong troubleshooting skills, professionalism with customers, and the ability to work independently and within a team environment are key to success in this position.</p>
<ul>
<li>Instrumentation start-up, calibration, and troubleshooting </li>
<li>Experience with flow, pressure, temperature, vibration, and analytical instrumentation </li>
<li>Read and red-line P&IDs, control loop, and panel drawings </li>
<li>Troubleshoot motor starters, VFDs, soft starts, and PLC systems </li>
<li>Perform electrical and mechanical equipment modifications in the field </li>
<li>Install and support computer and networking equipment </li>
<li>Build and test UL508A control panels in the shop </li>
<li>Local customer travel required with valid driver’s license </li>
<li>Microsoft Office proficiency required </li>
