Nursery Nurse - Shipley

About the role:

Justteachers is currently recruiting for a caring, enthusiastic, and dedicated Nursery Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Shipley. This is an exciting opportunity to support the school’s nursery provision, helping to create a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where children can develop and thrive during their early years.

The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher and wider Early Years team to support children’s learning, development, and wellbeing.

As a Nursery Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting young children throughout their early learning journey. You will help deliver engaging activities, encourage children’s social and emotional development, and contribute to creating a positive and stimulating learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the delivery of high-quality learning experiences in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
• Assist with the preparation and organisation of indoor and outdoor learning activities.
• Encourage children’s communication, language, social, and emotional development.
• Support children with personal care routines where required.
• Observe and record children’s progress, contributing to assessments and learning journals.
• Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
• Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.
• Support children with additional needs where appropriate.

Pre-requisites:

• Experience working with young children in a nursery, preschool, or school setting.
• A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and development.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• A patient, caring, and positive approach.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
