About the role:
A welcoming Early Years setting in Spalding is seeking an Early Years SEND Practitioner to provide specialist support for children with additional learning and developmental needs. The provision places a strong emphasis on inclusive practice and works closely with families to ensure every child receives the support they need to thrive.
The successful candidate will support children through structured play, sensory learning, communication-based activities, and targeted interventions that encourage development across all areas of learning. This role is to start in the new academic year and has the protentional to be extended into a permanent role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support children with SEND across nursery and early years learning environments.
- Deliver targeted interventions that promote communication, social interaction, and early development skills.
- Use sensory-based and play-focused approaches to encourage engagement and participation.
- Support children with routines, transitions, and personal development activities throughout the day.
- Work alongside practitioners to adapt learning activities and resources to meet individual needs.
- Monitor developmental progress and contribute observations towards learning and support plans.
- Build positive relationships with children, families, and external professionals.
Pre-requisites:
- Experience supporting children within Early Years, nursery, SEND, childcare, or educational settings.
- Understanding of child development and early intervention strategies.
- Knowledge of SEND, including Autism, speech and language needs, or developmental delays.
- Ability to create engaging and inclusive learning experiences.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Relevant qualifications such as Level 2/3 Early Years, Childcare, Teaching Assistant, or equivalent experience.
