Teaching Assistant – SEND School
Location: Tunbridge Wells, KentPosition: Full-time, Term TimeStart Date: As soon as possible (or negotiable)
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a supportive SEND school in Tunbridge Wells, working full time with pupils in small group settings.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about making a real difference to children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
The Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will:
Support pupils with a range of SEND needs, including autism, SEMH, and additional learning needs
Work closely with teachers to deliver tailored learning activities in small groups
Provide consistent, calm, and positive support to help pupils engage with learning
Assist with personal, social, and emotional development
Foster a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment
Support behaviour management strategies in line with school policies
About You
We are looking for someone who:
Has a caring, patient, and resilient approach
Is confident working with children with SEND
Can work effectively as part of a close-knit team
Communicates clearly with staff, pupils, and families
Is reliable and committed to full-time work
Previous experience in a SEND school or similar setting is desirable but not essential, as full training and support will be provided for the right candidate.
