<h2>Day-to-Day</h2>
<ul>
<li>Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to deliver coordinated designs.</li>
<li>Develop detailed mechanical designs, specifications, and reports.</li>
<li>Attend project meetings and provide technical input to ensure project objectives are met.</li>
<li>Conduct site visits to monitor progress, resolve issues, and ensure compliance with design specifications.</li>
<li>Support the development of innovative, sustainable, and energy-efficient solutions for clients.</li>
<li>Mentor and support junior team members, sharing knowledge and expertise.</li>
</ul>
<h2>Responsibilities</h2>
<ul>
<li>Lead the mechanical design process across all RIBA stages, ensuring high-quality and innovative solutions.</li>
<li>Manage projects and coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver on time and within budget.</li>
<li>Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a key point of contact for stakeholders.</li>
<li>Oversee quality assurance procedures and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.</li>
<li>Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers, fostering their professional growth.</li>
<li>Conduct site inspections, support commissioning activities, and perform technical reviews.</li>
</ul>
<h2>Qualifications</h2>
<ul>
<li>A minimum of 5 years’ experience in mechanical building services design.</li>
<li>Proven experience in leading projects and managing engineering teams.</li>
<li>Membership of CIBSE (or actively working towards membership).</li>
<li>Progress towards Chartered Engineer status is highly desirable.</li>
<li>Strong technical expertise in:
<ul>
<li>Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems.</li>
<li>Heating and cooling load calculations.</li>
<li>Low-carbon and sustainable design solutions, including heat pumps and renewables.</li>
<li>Domestic water services and public health design.</li>
<li>BMS integration and controls coordination.</li>
<li>Plantroom design and equipment selection.</li>
</ul>
</li>
<li>Proficiency in CAD and BIM software.</li>
</ul>
