<p>CNC Sliding Head Machinist 6784</p>
<p><strong>Location:</strong> Coventry<br />
<strong>Hours:</strong> Double days<br />
<strong>Salary:</strong> £17.77 an hour</p>
<p>Key Responsibilities of a CNC Sliding Head Machinist</p>
<ul>
<li>Setting and operating CNC sliding head machines to produce precision components to tight tolerances.</li>
<li>Working with materials such as stainless steel, aluminium, brass and plastics.</li>
<li>Reading and interpreting engineering drawings to ensure accurate manufacture.</li>
<li>Editing programmes and making offset adjustments using Fanuc or similar controls.</li>
<li>Carrying out first off inspection and in process quality checks using micrometers, verniers and gauges.</li>
<li>Ensuring machines are maintained, tooling is replaced as required and downtime is minimised.</li>
<li>Working to production schedules while maintaining high quality standards.</li>
<li>Adhering to health and safety procedures at all times.</li>
<li>Key Skills of a CNC Sliding Head Machinist</li>
<li>Proven experience setting and operating CNC sliding head machines.</li>
<li>Strong understanding of Fanuc controls or similar systems.</li>
<li>Ability to read and interpret technical engineering drawings.</li>
<li>Experience working to tight tolerances within a precision engineering environment.</li>
<li>Competent using a range of measuring equipment.</li>
<li>Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.</li>
<li>Ability to work independently and as part of a team.</li>
<li>Flexible approach to shifts and overtime where required.</li>
</ul>
<p>Key Skills of a CNC Sliding Head Machinist</p>
<ul>
<li>Previous experience setting and operating CNC sliding head machines within a precision engineering or automotive environment.</li>
<li>Strong understanding of Fanuc controls.</li>
<li>Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings.</li>
<li>Experience producing components to tight tolerances.</li>
<li>Confident using a range of inspection and measuring equipment.</li>
<li>Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high quality work.</li>
<li>Able to work effectively as part of a team in a fast paced manufacturing environment.</li>
