About the role:

justteachers is currently recruiting for a full-time SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming specialist school in Rugby from September 2026 until July 2027. This rewarding opportunity is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and wants to make a lasting impact within a dedicated SEN school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.
• Work closely with the class teacher to deliver engaging and accessible learning activities.
• Provide one-to-one and small group support tailored to individual learning plans.
• Encourage positive behaviour and promote independence.
• Assist with personal care where required.
• Help create a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment

Pre-requisites:

• Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN is desirable.
• A patient, caring and resilient approach.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
